The 200 Club mourns the passing of Gilbert W. Lugossy, a cherished 200 Club of Mercer County board member and dear friend, who passed away this weekend at the age of 90.
Gil was one of Mercer County’s most dedicated public servants. Over the course of a remarkable career, he served nearly fifteen years as Mercer County Sheriff, and held roles as a county freeholder, Hamilton Township school board member, New Jersey State Parole Board member, and longtime fire commissioner. He was a Brown University graduate and a volunteer firefighter who believed deeply in community and service.
To the 200 Club, Gil was more than his long record of public service — he was a trusted colleague, a warm presence, and a friend to all who knew him. His commitment to this organization reflected the same dedication he brought to everything he did.
