As many of you may have read, two veteran police detectives were shot and wounded in the line of duty on Thursday morning in Trenton.

Authorities say 53-year-old Detective Edgar Rios, a 30-year veteran, took several bullets to the torso, injuring vital organs. The other detective, 46-year-old Jim Letts, a 15-year veteran, suffered a shoulder injury.

In response, the Community Blood Council of NJ is holding an emergency blood drive today:
